painted painting...

Julie Oct 07, 2003 12:15 PM

OK, sorry, but I wanted to show it to someone. I made this painting of a painted mantella. It is my second painting in life.
I am new to the frog keeping hobby, but I really love Framboise and Groseille, the two mantellas I bought this summer. I even started to grow my own wingless fruitflies with great success.
I have a little question: Is it possible to overfeed a golden mantella? Mine is getting very fat. Also, is it correct to keep two different species together? I have my golden and my painted mantellas in a 12,5 gallons viv. Of course, I don't expect them to breed... Both are doing very well and are very active.
Thanks for any answers

That is a very nice painting, Id love to see your rendition of the golden mantella you have! As far as your questions, YES you can overfeed a mantella. Its not hard either. Cut back on the flies for your golden, sounds like hes getting obese, which is a serious health threat for mantellas. I think its okay to have the golden with your painted if you dont plan to breed them. Good luck with your frogs and your paintings!
