Boa with Leukemia

nyrich44 Jun 16, 2013 09:21 AM

I have recently had my 27 yr old boa diagnosed with Leukemia. This news was devastating. I had brought him to the vet because he wasnt eating for quite some time and then I found this out. Does anyone know of any type of treatment for this. My vet is trying to get any info she can and I am thankful for that but i figured maybe somebody somewhere has had this experience. It is really tough because he seems to be fine but knowing this and being that he cant tell me I'm in pain I am sort of at a dilemmea as far as what to do.

I have never heard of that one. 27 years is a long life for a Boa. Have you had him much of that time? I love old Boas.

I know in dogs with this disease acupuncture can improve and prolong quality of life, I have never heard of it performed on a snake, but if you find the right acupuncturist I think it is worth a shot.
Best of luck, it sounds like your boa has had a good life.
