Happy Hypo Fathers Day, From Peru!

newworldmorphs Jun 17, 2013 06:47 PM

Happy Fathers Day to all of you with children ( reptilian and otherwise! ) !! This weekend was awesome, my first litter came right on time. Two days shy of exactly 17 weeks from the POS. Thats pretty much where I have been calculating parturition when it comes to my BCC. This is this pair's second time pairing up and second litter so that is exciting being BCC. Kind of a small litter: 9 healthy babies, 2 stills, sadly, but 0 slugs. No yolk sacks at all, even the stills. Average length was 22 inches.

The cool thing with this litter is this is my 100% Peruvian female being bred by my 50/50 Hypo Peruvian/ Columbian male. Thus making 75% Peruvian Hypos. This is my second litter of them and , as far as I am aware, still the only ones produced. I know there a lot of purists out there that are not thrilled with this type of breeding though I have been contacted by a few of them that have actually told me they loved the results of this breeding. So, feel free to comment either way. Opinions are just that .

The cool thing about this second litter is having the ability to get a glimpse at what to expect from them as they grow up as I heldback half of the first litter specifically for this reason. Not to mention, the awesome opportunity to breed a Hypo male into an unrelated Pure Peruvian female in the future and breeding the BCI "out" of the Hypos.
The father is an amazing red/orange all over ( including 90% of his belly) ..the mother is kinda of dark though has a very nice amount of red and purple in her. All of this has added up to make some really nice rose colored Hypos! Even the non-Hypos are a lot cleaner and super nice looking so really they all are winners, in my eyes. The next Peruvian female I use to breed to will be way cleaner ( HINT HINT, to the Diaz Brothers at Legacy!!! )

Anyway, on to the pics. Thanks for looking!!! I'll post pics post first shed. The last pic is of one from the first litter of these same parents, for comparison. The cleanest one is in a shed so you get this one, LOL. Enjoy and feel free to question or comment!
