Best not to use plexiglass because the lizard’s claws will scratch it up. Best place to get the tracks is at your local glass shop. They should be able to sell you the glass and also the tracks that it goes into. You would be looking at about $60-$80 for the glass and tracks alone. Call around and you should get a few different prices.
Good Luck,
Steve

If you use a litter dam and raise the track or even just use a dam behind the track, you will minimize the scratching. You can not prevent it but for the price you can replace it once a year or something, (if it got that bad.)

Anyway, you can get a plastic track at HomeDepot where they have the tracks for closet doors etc. It comes in a plastic wrap stuff in several different lengths. I got the 1/4" stuff.
I also used some of the "TOP" portion of the track (It's a little bigger than the bottom track to allow the space to insert or remove the doors) Anyway, I used some of the top piece on the sides where the doors will meet the sides of the cage. That way when you close the doors, they are inside the pocket and the animals can't get a grip behind the door & push it open.

I do only have a snake in it so I can't really say how long it will take for them to scratch it up too bad but I do know that local glass shops around here do not carry the tracks needed and they are robbers for non standard pieces of glass. I can buy 4 or 4 fish tanks for what it would cost me to buy the glass to make one..

I'll get a pic of the track & plexi glass for the snake cage I'm talking about.

Later.

another option is lexan....it is just a high end polycarbonate..it won't break. isn't easily scratched and is lighter than glass.. also when i make my cages i make the cage deeper than the doors themselves. so sand and other subsrates you might use don't get stuck in the track... but i not entirely sure how much lexan costs.. i am one of those lucky people hate.. i get all my supplies free...

lemme tell ya, if my umbrella too doesnt scratch and mark it, a dragon wont, hes really hard on the stuff (bangs his wood and metal toys against it, bangs on it with his beak, plays with his feet on it, well he does about everything to it)and it stays quite nice, it has a few light marks on it but you cant see them at all and hes been in it for well over a year now. perhaps the lexan that was posted about would be more durable, but just thought i would give my experience on plexiglass

youll have to excuse the reflection off the glass..

I use plexi for all my cages and never had a problem with them scratching it up. I have 4 males that just go nuts clawing at the plexi when the females are out. If it scratched that easily I would have needed new ones about every week the way they abuse them to mate the females, or they would have gotten through it I've been using plexi for about a year and a half now, and about 3 years with my iguana and haven't had to change them yet.

This is the cage I was talking about in the other post.
It is a display cage I put in the middle of my snake rack.

I would recommend making the dam a little bigger for the dragons.

Here is the whole cage portion of the rack.

Here is the left bottom corner, you can see the "top" track that I put on the sides to accept the sides of the doors when they are closed.

And this is the whole right side

And a close up of the right corner

And the last one is a locking pin I put in. Snakes will use leverage to push open the doors without it. lol

later.
