Litter 5 - Venezuela......

lrdj Jun 26, 2013 05:01 PM

Here is some info... (personal communication 2004 and 2012, Dennis Sargent)....

Parents born in 2004 and 2005 - Produced by Dennis Sargent

Origin - North Central State of Apure, Venezuela

This form of boas, along with those found in the eastern portion of Colombia are more closely aligned with Boa constrictor constrictor, even though they are residents of dry tropical forests and savannah. The area of origin is near and just north of the famed Venezuelan Llanos or floodplain. These boas share the docile temperament of the Colombian Boas but have some of the more intense coloration and larger size of the true redtail boas, which are generally found in the rainforest. The mother of these offspring (above parents) is in excess of ten feet in length and about fifty five pounds in weight; the father is over nine feet long and weighs over forty pounds.
