I know that its a black rat, but the blind know it alls dont agree.they think its a corn.... could someone please back me up here?

Mark: I agree it is a black. I am surprised nobody on that other board asked the original poster what the snake's belly looked like. Corn's belly is key.

Aside from the venter of the corn there is the lack of the "spear" point that would exist on the head a corn snake.
The pic is definately a juvenile Pantherophis obsoletus obsoletus, a Black Ratsnake.

Another way to convince the skeptics is to check the postocular stripe. If it ends at the mouth line and is uniform in color, Black Rat. If it extends beyond the mouth line, and is lighter in the middle with dark borderings, Corn.
