darkclient Oct 07, 2003 02:39 PM

I got a pacman frog about oh a month ago and ive only seen him eat about three tomes. the crickets are disipearing I dont know if they are being eaten or crawling into the substrate and dying.my tand setup is a ten gal with a jungle mix substrate with a thick layer of aquarium moss on top And i have a saucer from a plant dish as its water dish. I have an under tank heater and a tank light above it. I really do not want to lose this frog because ive invested about $100 in him. please help me

If you are worried about him not eating try a simpler set up, such as a wet paper towel to see if he is eating, because the crickets have nowhere to go. Or you can go with just dirt and a water dish.

It's probly eating the crix, just when you're not looking. You should also try taking the under tank heater off, as they bury down into the substrate to get away from heat. Heating from above is a lot better for it than heating from beneath.

The first few days I had my horned frog, it didn't eat in front of me either. Now it bites my hands, since I don't want to uses tongs on those tricky crickets.
