What Pattern is my Cali King?

Fraymorg Jul 24, 2013 10:23 PM

I recently acquired this beauty because a friend of a friend was selling it. He was moving and couldnt keep it.He told me it was Reverse Striped but, to me it looks more like an Aztec pattern. Im pretty sure people here know more about patterns and how to classify them than I do so let's ask the pros!

P.S. Her underside is a dark chocolate color, not quite black, but everything else that looks black, is.

Definitely not an aztec. A reverse stripe would be more in line.

Ok. Thanks! I just based off of pictures on google. It just seemed like Reverse Striped Kings had one stripe of white or yellow with the rest of their body either completely black or brown. Thanks anyways for clearing this up!

No sir, you described a normal striper, a reverse striper is all white or yellowish with a black or brown stripe down the backbone.

I would not call what you posted a reverse striper either, its more a normal high white aberrant. Something inbetween actual named color phases. I think in order to be a morph, a particular color/pattern type must breed true. Or its just a color phase. Your king most likely will not breed true. If you breed it to another just like it, you would receive a range of color and pattern types. Best wishes

You are correct sir. I did mistakenly describe a normal. What I meant was Stripe = dark color and whole body = light color. Thanks for the info! I have no intentions of breeding it. Just wanted to know what it's pattern was. Again, Thanks for the info.
