Black and Orange Ball Python-Halloween c

boxienuts Jul 31, 2013 08:10 PM

This is as close to black and orange in a ball python that I have seen, but I realize it won't likely stay that color. The production of this clutch started 7 years ago when I bought a light colored reduced pattern normal at Tinley from Bob Futo and a premo pastel male I bought from Marc Bailey at a Des Moine show. They produced some outstanding reduced pattern pastels, and she has produced some outstanding reduced pattern enchis as well. One of their pastel daughters is the Dam of this clutch and the sire on the other hand is a calico male that has no white and many people doubted that he was even a calico at all, and most people would consider low quality, but there was something interesting about his reduced pattern that attracted me. Many of my friends said he didn't look and different than a normal other than the reduced pattern. Well I guess the doubting is over. This is proof that even a low white calico can produce outstanding babies. I may be biased but I think this is one of the best looking calicos and pastel calicos I have ever seen, and shows that selective breeding of normal and pastels can pay off when producing combos down the road.

This is a black and orange ball I produced a few years back. The pics don't show the colors as well as they were in real life. It was from a nice pastel male to a clean light spider. The bumble bees from the clutch looked like killer bees. In fact a few well know breeders asked me if they were killers. I don't have any recent pics but the black and orange still remains but just lighter. Trying to get babies from it to see if the colors will pass on.
