Breeding Female with a Kink on Spine

ROC Aug 02, 2013 09:05 PM

I hatched out a female 2 years ago, and she is now in the 800-1000 gram range. Today I noticed she has a kink on her spine about 1 inch from the cloaca. I know I was not just overlooking this kink all this time, but I know it did not just pop up overnight. I wanted to ask about breeding a female like this and what your experiences are. I imagine it will also depend on the severity of the kink, and I would not consider hers to be extreme. Thanks for any insights you can provide.

Here are two pictures. As you can see it is not such a severe issue that the snake slithers with its tail bent at an angle or anything like that.

Thanks for the help.

Damn man she's a pied too. That's a tuff one. The kink doesn't seem to bad, it's just the spot it's in is scary. That's strange how it just popped up like that though. Are you the only one who cares for them? Could she have possibly been dropped on the floor? Usually kinks happen in the egg.

I hatched her out and I'm the only one who takes care of her. I know it seems like I must have never looked at her to overlook that but if it was there it was never that bad. I am willing to bet it happened in the egg, this was my first clutch ever and most of the eggs dried out (steep learning curve there), this was one of two that made it.
