Big question about which rack system

TSUSnakeGuy Aug 05, 2013 10:40 PM

I am hoping to upgrade my snake caging in the next 6 months or so and I want to start really looking into it right now. I currently use big wooden homemade cages. They are great cages and have done a good job but I have way more snakes now than I did back then and want to move to using a professional style rack. I am torn between the large boa racks of ARS Caging and Freedom Breeder. I really want to hear everyones input on both of these systems. I want to know about their ease of cleaning, how sturdy they are, how much it cost in shipping. I want to know anything you are willing to tell me.
I know that their are cages out their that you can stack but I really want a rack system. I find the being able to reach down into them to clean and remove snakes to be easier on my back than reaching deep into a cage.

You know man it's a matter of preference really. They all have their pros and cons. I like the vision cages and they make a great boa tub rack. I will say however that don't count out stackable four foot cages. I have loads of boaphiles that I have had almost ten years and I still love them to be honest. They seem to be the perfect blend of humidity retention yet proper air flow as well as proper heat. They are durable, long lasting and easy to clean. My snakes in my freedom breeders always had shedding problems because of their inability to hold some humidity. New born boas can also escape from these racks. My grow out yearling racks are from Vision and I love them. No humidity problems at all and they are light, easy to move and well made. I also have old school boaphile hatchling racks with the first Phillips tubs that I have owned for almost 14 years and they were(and still are) worth every Penny I spent on them. The best bang for your buck I believe is the vision stuff but there are some very good four foot cages out there and I believe ultimately, they are the best for the animals. Good luck. Mike Panichi.

The boaphiles are very nice cages, I agree. I just really like a rack system. They are easier for me to clean and allow in more light so it is easier to see when the cage is dirty.
