Keeping cats allows man to cohabitate with tigers. Keeping reptiles allows man to cohabitate with dinosaurs.
Those black and ws mogrel kings are interesting. How'd you come up with that catchy name?

i work with tri-colored west mexican lampropeltis. some morph, some hobby, and some locale.
everyone is entitled to their options, but no one's opinion will ever change how i feel about the snakes i keep and breed.
the term mixed-breed is used for mongrels with no purebred ancestors, it is technically a misnomer. The implication that such snakes must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of snake breeding. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, created from random-bred populations in the wild populations.

But the answer I gave was in reply to the previous post. It was not the correct answer as to WHY Thomas named them Mongrels.
I guess I thought I was pointing to the obvious and maybe people here are so new they don't know. lol.

Hey, Thomas, great season, huh? I really like the painted kings. Are you using nigra or nigrita? I ask because some of the mongrels are extremely dark--and don't nigra start out lighter than when they mature, and nigrita are typically always dark? Thanks!
hey andy yeah bit of a typo on my part
the painted kings are nigra and pueblan bred back to pueblan 25%nigra and 75%pueblan.
my mongrel kings are nigritus and floridana those I posted are F1s 50/50s
