Corn snakes and other animals

Could you put a baby bearded dragon into the same cage as the snake? Or will the snake eat the lizard?

First off, bearded dragons and corn snakes require vastly different habitats...corns need higher humidity and lower temps (90 at most, compared to 115 hot spot) than a bearded dragon.

Plus, at least in my case, my bearded dragon is freaked out by snakes - I can hold one outside the glass and she will puff her through and run away, slamming into the glass on the other end.

Not to mention if you'll be feeding crickets in the cage, the snake probably won't appreciate being crawled/gnawed on.

Etc., etc.

There's a huge list of why's, including things like they have different environments, different temperatures, stress... all the arguments that have been stated time and time again... but really...

Bearded dragons HATE snakes.

Your beardie will feel extremely threatened by the presence of a snake anywhere in your house, let alone within the same cage. If he can, he'll kill it. Bearded dragons will tolerate a good number of things... I've heard of beardies that have no problem with cats, dogs, etc... they'll just give the other critter an odd beardie look. Show a beardie a snake, and you'll get to see a beardie's aggressive stance. Even letting beardies pick up the scent of snakes is enough to convince them to turn their beards black.

I would not even recommend handling your beardie after handling your snake, without thoroughly washing the scent off of you.

I'm not sure I can say enough how bad it would be to house the two together, so I'll just say DON'T. Beardies hate snakes. The snake may or may not care, but the beardie will care. And they don't adjust. I've had a beardie in my house for years, and he still gets agitated if he smells my cornsnakes.

Trust me... beardies and cornsnakes together is like putting cesium and water together. Not a good combo.

My beardies couldn't care less about my snakes, in fact the most interest they have shown was in EATING the snake.

Either way, put a snake and a lizard together, one or both will end up dead.

I would but that's just me.An adult Beardi would make a hatchling corn a meal and vice versa.Throw in the stress levels, bacteria, heat ranges, humidity levels, substrate, food items,etc.etc.I would have to say no.I am glad you consulted kingsnake.....Paul.
