how big do they get? what the smallest blood/short tail python around?

The "Sarawak short-tails", don't get any bigger than does the Borneo short-tails of similar origin to the east, with a total size potential of 5.5ft for females, and 4.5-5ft for males. There are exceptions to this, but these are considered the standard. As for the smallest of the short-tails, the "Sumatran short-tails", of southern and western Sumatra (AKA: Black Blood) are the smallest of the group, with an average length of 4.5-5ft for females, and 4ft for males. Though they are a different locale, the Sarawaks are still a P. Breitensteini... as are marbles (I think) Their varieties are so many it's incredible. One reason I love the bloods so much!
