Im really confused about this whole trick vs hurricane debate. If its his own bloodline of a morph he can call it whatever he wants. What makes this situation different than butter vs lesser or banana vs coral glow? I agree they are probably the same gene but everyone is blowing this way out of proportion. Worry about yourselves. Great looking snake btw.
I would go a step further and say it would be a little irresponsible to call it the same thing if it is a different line. How can you be sure it's exactly the same? If the new line is also called Trick that's an implied warranty that it's equal and maybe the new line is worse or better in some way or even if identical looking and acting it could be a different gene and the combined "super" might not be homozygous. Even once the super is made from combining the lines and if it's breeding proves both lines are mutations at the same locus it could still turn out that they are slightly different mutations, like say mystic and Mojave (different alleles of the blue eyed leucistic gene). Basically I think it's way too early to guarantee that Hurricane = Trick even if that does seem likely.
The "woma" ball is a classic example where two different morphs got the same name (now woma and hg woma after years of confusion). If it had been two different breeders originally claiming the two morphs were the same rather than NERD with both lines there would have been a huge argument between them that the 2nd was just trying to cash in on the first's work and fall out for the 2nd when it eventually proved to be different.

Thank you very much for your extended answer to help everyone to understand why I introduce the Hurricanes like I do.

Thank you very much!

Thank you very much!
For my part I would have liked it more if this would not have had been nessecary. Though I must obey, I had not so a bad time while writing my answer and square dancing in some bad imposters’ necks by the same time.
I’m glad the offence against my person was deleted by someone, thank you.
