*HELP PLEASE!*

I have a 2010 Female Pastel that I'm hoping to breed soon, she's about 1250 grams, she's recently stopped eating for about 3 or 4 weeks. She usually slams frozen-thawed rats every chance she gets but recently doesn't want anything to do with food. My house is kept at 80 degrees and I'm in Florida so it's not like it's cold. Can someone help me?? I really want to get ready for breeding coming up!
Thanks,
Charlie (seegray80)

Sounds like she hit the "wall". Not at all uncommon for balls at this size ( /- several hundred grams) to stop feeding. She'll probably resume when the weather cools down or when a male is introduced and she starts developing folicles. I would personally wait until your temps start going down in October-December and she'll probably resume. Healthwise she'll be perfectly fine to take a little break which can be several months or more. This is the type of thing you have to be willing to accept when working with balls. It's their call, not ours.

try again to feed her...smaller rats ...like large fuzzies?...or mice or whatever ...

if she won't eat...throw a male on her and maybe it will kick her brain into preparing follicles , and eating again....

it works sometimes...if not...you want to breed her anyways...might as well start now...
