You got a nice variety of traits there. I think # 3 is my favorite, I have always liked the large blotched ones and especially that burgendy color that's pretty unique to mex mex(and some thayeri). Are these all from one clutch? I'd like to see pics of the parents.

These are from two separate clutches...
The burgundy coloration is typical of black or dark phase mex mex. It is interesting that the burgundy changes to almost red/orange while the ground color darkens to almost black.
The one in picture 3 is from dark phase parents.

The others are from granite line parents.
Look closely at the last one Aaron....It has a nice nuchal stripe but there is also some striping on the tail. This is the first time I've seen this and this one will probably be held back for my striped mex mex project. But it could be just an anomaly from the granite gene...

Ya man I see the striping. It's awesome. A long time ago I got an adult pair of "het for speckled" mex mex from a friend. This was before the Galvan's and before I ever heard of Granites. Around 1997 I believe. The guy who gave them to me said they were from Germany and he wasn't really sure if they were real hets or not, i think I traded a pair or two of alterna for them.

Anyways, I only bred them once and only one baby hatched out. It was fully striped, the whole snake was just like the tail portion of your snake, with 100% of the dorsal blotches divide in half down the middle. Unfortunately that baby died from an accidental overdose of a poorly labeled nutrient product and I sold/traded the adults shortly afterwards. I have been wondering ever since if I'd ever see another one.

I would love to see a picture and to include it in a project I am putting together Aaron.

I have been working on line breeding for stripes for a few generations. I have some with 1/4 lenght stripes and one from BHB with almost 1/3 length stripe.

Email me when you can if you have a picture. Jlassiter.cbcb@gmail.com
