A useful test for everyone

Go to this site, it's quite interesting and I think you'll all learn something about yourselves.

Another very interesting bit is the second test "Iconochasms" which shows that not everyone is quite as squeeky clean as you may have thought:

"I am strongly in favour of using poisonous gas against uncivilised tribes ... to spread a lively terror?" Winston Churchill, writing as President of the Air Council, in 1919

"To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day hero ... assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an un-winnable urban guerilla war. It could only plunge that part of the world into even greater instability." George Bush Snr, in A World Transformed, 1998

Who demonised Jews and urged the destruction of their synagogues and houses, the seizing of their valuables and the denial of their prayer books and passports? Martin Luther, in his 1543 pamphlet Concerning the Jews and their Lies

It's good to have you back! Now you can respond to Judy's post below that you forgot to respond to before you disappeared.

herpconsultants2 Oct 08, 2003 09:54 AM

So....where do people stand? Did you take the test? I'm interested to see what the results were!

DevinP Oct 08, 2003 10:32 AM

Same old, same old, same old.

You quote comments made by Bush Sr in 1998 to support your position that Bush was wrong for invading Iraq in 2003. How clever! Your "interesting bit" was insulting, and not the least bit interesting, except maybe to the other anti-Americans here. 9/11 was 'no skin off your back", and no matter how hard you try to act as if 9/11 never happened, Americans haven't forgotten, and we know exactly why we are in Iraq today. We aren't looking for YOUR approval. Ha Ha Herpes! Dismissed!

Hmmmm, I've never actually seen that qoute before and genuinely thought it was an interesting test! Jeez. Just do the the test for crying out loud. I have no motive here other than sharing a bloody interesting thing on the net! Not everything in life relates to 9/11 you know!

DevinP Oct 08, 2003 02:08 PM

" Not everything in life relates to 9/11 you know!"

Americans in Iraq have everything to do with 9/11. You are so ridiculous, you think that you shouldn't have to hear about 9/11 in discussions like this. Get used to it Herpes, 9/11 is the root of the our war on terror whether you like it or not. It's clear, though your many suffocating posts, that you believe we had it coming, and we should try to understand terrorists, we are polluting the environment, we had no right to invade Iraq because of it's wonderful wildlife, and blah, blah, blah. Your passion to bash Americans underlies every syllable of idiotic junk that you've posted here.

Why should anyone here go to any lengths to entertain your posts when you cleary refuse to extend the same courtesy to others. Remember all the time Judy spent giving you the response you requested? In return you completely ignored her request that you respond to her posts and disappeared. It seems you have more than enough time now. Why not answer those posts now?

herpconsultants2 Oct 08, 2003 10:47 AM

You know I just re-read my post and cannot see where you are coming from. Just ignore the Bush senior bit if you like. I just think it's an interesting thing to see how a chemicals were once thought of as a suitable weapon, that Martin Luther could also be a racist etc. You know, that the world isn't as straight forward as we think! If Bush Sr. said that well so what. Maybe he said it before further intelligence came to light.

Seriosuly, you have a problem! The likes of you keep pro-British and Pro-American yet anti-war people away from here! Just as i said to Judy above, the likes of you ruin things for everybody.

Again, take the post for what it is!!! That is how I intended it to be taken! If you think I have other motives then keep your thoughts to you yourself because other than me saying publicly here that I don't, there's nothing more that needs to be said!

Have the forum to yourself!

herpconsultants2 Oct 08, 2003 11:00 AM

Did you even bother to take the (first) test?

DevinP Oct 08, 2003 11:22 AM

Take the test yourself Mr. anti-American. And boo hoo if your anti-American friends don't want to post here. Go play in the jungle.

Your test is useless, and your bashing of two admirable Americans didn't go unnoticed. Face it Herpes, you are insulting. It doesn't matter if your insults are packaged a polite or rude, the message is the same. You took another shot at America here and you thought you were being subtle and clever. I see it much differently! You keep trying to get the approval of Americans here for your insulting comments. Sure, you might think that because you bashed Winston C. also, we might think that you are being objective because he was from your country. However, knowing that you also bash your own government for helping to eliminate Saddam's evil regime, you lose all credibility.

By the way, although your discussion with Froggy below was polite and civil, you still accomplished nothing. If you noticed, he disagreed with everything you had to say about Iraq. You confuse "polite" with "constructive", and under no circumstances, will your anti-American comments ever get the respect you are looking for here. Froggy has the patience and tolerance of a Saint, especially in light of the fact that he is in Iraq doing good things and he has to listen to someone like you tell him to treat the Iraqi citizens with respect. If you remember, YOU are the guy who wanted those same people to remain under Saddam's cruel dictatorship. So why don't you drop the holier than thou attitude.

"Your test is useless"

- Actually, it's not MY test. Everybody that has done it that I know has found it enlightening. It has nothing to do with any war, or any current situation, it simply shows you where you stand in relation to certain political leanings.

"Your bashing of two admirable Americans didn't go unnoticed"

- Well, I'm sorry if two facts insult you. The fact that Churchill though chemical weapons were great doesn't overcome me with pride. Neither does the fact that my government has developed biological and chemical weapons. But they're facts of life. It wasn't a shot at anyone. I could have used the Nelson Mandela references, or Mother Teresa's, but seeing that most users here are US, and I am from the UK, I chose those 3 examples. If you find truths rude, or insulting, well don't look at me. If Martin Luther hated Jews, is that my fault? How am I insulting you? If I said Hitler hated Jews am I insulting Hermann? If George Bush wrote what he wrote, then I apologize. If Churchill thought that Hitler was a great leader in 1937, then that is history. My point was, and it's a HUGE glaring one that you have missed, that history shows us some interesting lessons. That ideas change. People change. Societies change. But things take time!

"You keep trying to get the approval of Americans here for your insulting comments"

- Approval? Hmmm, no, it was a test. A look at YOURSELF! I did the test a few days ago and found it interesting. Pardon me for sharing!

"By the way, although your discussion with Froggy below was polite and civil, you still accomplished nothing"

- it's not about accomplishing something! We had what is known as an adult discussion. What do you expect to accomplish here? Do you think other users are trying to accomplish something? No, it's called a DISCUSSION. We are not politicians. We are not making the decisions. But we can talk about them. And we can do so in a civil manner!

"If you remember, YOU are the guy who wanted those same people to remain under Saddam's cruel dictatorship"

- Right.....yes, I forgot I thought Saddam was a saint. My problem is with the methods used here, and the lies told by our politicians. I agree that Saddam needed to be ousted, but I disagree with the methods used. Penny dropped yet? Can you understand that?

DevinP Oct 08, 2003 01:50 PM

Your choice to use Bush Sr. and MLK as examples in your "interesting bit" was calculating and offensive. You cast both of these guys in a negative way, you are the guy who started the original flame here, and you been consistent in your criticisms against Americans. So your post, which you say is nothing more that a simple "test", is really just another one of your lame attempts to insult Americans. Gee, what a coincidence that you one of the Bush Presidents to make a point. What a coincidence that you have had nothing but criticism for Bush in your many nauseating posts here. Enough of your games child. The most entertaining part of your act is the commotion you have made about the fact that there has been retailiation against your disparaging posts. The fact that you are rattled by the responses to your trash shows that maybe you screwed up when you picked a lightening rod for a topic when you first posted here. Doy Herpes! Get a grip and stop being a crybaby! Be man enough to take credit for your anti-American stance.
