Am I over feeding my CalKing?

Rabitbuster Sep 10, 2013 12:32 PM

I have a 3 1/2 ft long Cali King. He recently started biting me, and I was recommended to feed him more. So I went from feeding him 1 adult mice a week, to 2 adult mice a week, and now 3 adult mice a week. 3 Adult mice a week seem to have gotten him to stop biting me, but I don't want to over feed him. He still eats all 3 mice very easily each week. And excretes them fine over the following week. Is this ok to continue doing, or do I need to spread out his feedings?

The snake looks great, why would you stop? I think the first person to ask is the animal, if its fine, then no need to ask any farther. Best wishes.

If your snake was overweight, but then, its not. Best wishes

You are doing the right thing. If he is aggressive feed him!..he is hungry!

I feed adult males 3-5 adult mice once a week unless I'm A) preparing them for hibernation B) removing them from hibernation to prepare for breeding, in those cases I usually feed 2-4 mice twice per week.
