Is there anything wrong with inbreeding? Does anyone do this?????
I always read that its ok to breed offspring to parent, but not siblings together cause their genes are so similar. Hope this helps,
MaC
If there is an obvious defect in the line (IE eye deformities and such) yes. If not...
A generation or two should be fine. That's how many morphs are established. Father to daughters and so on. But every few generations or so at least, you should mix in some new blood (Outcross). Inbreeding over a prolonged period can lead to deformities and other such problems.
Some breeders have line bred for years and never had problems. Ron Tremper has for most of his years breeding if I remember correctly. But Ron will outcross his leos with new blood to keep the line strong.
THANKS!!!!!
