heat pads ,,day/night ??

HerpGuy#1 Oct 07, 2003 07:58 PM

I've read up on carpets much and I have another concern for when my little coastal gets here. I've read caresheets that say, to keep the heat up at night, plug in the heat pad. I thought I was supposed to have the heat pad on during the day too. can someone touch on this subject somewhat for me? thanks

It has been my expereince that the necessesity for heat pads depends on the abient temps of the room your keeping your cage in. In colorado I had heat pads on all the time and we kept the house around 70-75 degreed year round. Here in Los Angeles I haven't used any heat pads or lights during the day all summer because its been 85 degrees most of the time in the home. So, my advice to you would be to use heat pads when you need them but don't be afraid to turn them off when temp sore up. Just be aware of your temps and try to keep them in the ideal ranges as best as you can.
