non vegie eating dragon

lrptls Oct 07, 2003 08:03 PM

i have a friend w/a chinese water dragon, 4 inches from snout to vent, about a year old. shes trying to get the dragon to take a larger variety of foods (different insects and vegies and things) but she can not get it to eat vegies. i told her to try puting meal worms and such in it, even makeing the peices of vegies very tiny. but her dragon is very good at picking the mealies out. i'm not sure what else she can try.

When I feed my dragon veggies or fruits, I stick them on the end of a long thin stick, and sorta wiggle it around a little and eventually he'll bite at it. Hes ate bananas, and some lettuces. Havent really tried anything else.

I've tried veggies/fruits w/Kane. When they want to eat them, they'll eat them. I'd wait fir your animal to get a bit bigger.
Kane is 9"STV and a bit over 30" total. If you can not get yours to eat veggies, try feeding the veggies/fruits to the insects. that way, the dragon will get the food groups in one package.
