its about my new hatchling SS it doesnt want to eat!! I've tried guppies, worms, and reptomin. I put a log in there and it has many places to
hide, but still no results. I have it in a 20 gal tank.

Well, in order to really get a handle on the problem, a few counter-questions have to posed...

1) What is the air temp of the tank? (mid 70s is a good start, with a basking spot of higher temp)

2) What is the water temp of the tank? (depends on species, but probably 72F to 75F range is ideal)

3) What is the substrate in the tank? (should be soft, sand is recommended)

4) What species of softshell are you keeping?

Lastly, if you want to try other food items, give it a whirl with chopped pinkies. Hatchling snakenecks start on this well, and softshells are general mammal-meat fans as well.

Hope this helps,

Is your little softy eating yet? I always had good luck with lean beef, chopped very small.
