Must be something in the air, Sk8erdude360...

My girl anole displayed today. And I can't figure out why - nothing near her, no reflection, no other lizards, not even me bothering her. Go figure.

It was a cute little pink flap. Though the flap was small, the display was actually much more impressive than the male's that I used to have. Full body flattening and giant pushups. Very threatening, I'm sure. Old Max just used to flare the flap and do a couple sissy head bobs.

I have not seen the flap on my anole. Maybe he does not have one.
That would be neat to see!

With my old one, I held a mirror up to him and he displayed thinking it was another male. Leeloo just did it on her own.

What do mean "he does not have one"? All anoles, males and females have them! Unless your anole's having genetic problems, he has one. And genetic problems are rare. Did you say "he"? Males have much more colorful and larger dewlaps than females do. You'll get to see it someday.

Well, it does look like a bit pathetic threatening posture, but it's quite effective to other anoles.

By the way, this "pink flap" is called a dewlap.
