ST HELENS STAR (UK) 02 October 13 Just where has the Silkstone Street snake slithered off too?
A Boa Constrictor snake remains on the loose after slithering out of its house on Silkstone Street.
The five-year-old flat headed snake, measuring 4.5ft long and 3cm wide is black with a distinctive stubby tail.
It was reported missing last Thursday (September 26), but hasn’t been seen since.
The story generated a huge response from Star readers who expressed their horror.
Posting on the Star’s Facebook page Mandy Miller wrote: “My first fear is dwarfs my second is snakes, that’s me not going out and locking my door.”
Leanne Keech agreed: “Well although it isn’t poisonous and not considered a danger to the public, people are not advised to approach the snake.”
If you spot it contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or the RSPCA on 0845 241 725
