HIRU NEWS (Columbia, Sri Lanka) 07 October 13 Crocodile population up in Jaffna
A researched conducted after 100 years has found that there is an increase in the mugger crocodile population in Jaffna.
According to the research conducted by the world crocodile specialist committee the mugger crocodiles were discovered in a jungle area in Point Pedro.
Anaslam De Silva, the president in charge of the South Asian region of the world crocodile specialist committee stated that the organization seeks the assistance of the army to protect the 50 to 60 mugger crocodiles discovered in the Jaffna peninsula.
