Anyone have any insight into what caused this?

SPJ01 Oct 07, 2003 09:27 PM

My female het pied is just about a year old and shed the other day. Same as always, I took her out to make sure nothing was left. This time her appearance caught me off guard. She now has distinct orange coloring coming in on the sides right above the stomach. It's like a line of orange coloring running down each side. This was never there before. I have seen babies that had orange on them and it eventually disapears as they age. She is almost a year old and it is now starting to appear. What is causing this? Anyone else have a BP start to color up as they aged like this? Is this something related to the fact that she is a het pied? Any insight (or guesses) on this would be great. I am going to see if I can get a pic of it so I can post it. Thanks.

Here is a pic. Not the greatest but it shows where the orange is coming in on the bottom where it was previously bright white.

The flash washed it out and the camera bites at closeups.
Basically, where there was white on the bottom of the sides is now orange. I was wondering if this was normal or did something happen when she shed or....
