I have read a lot of posts on this board mentioning impaction. Do the Leo's only get impacted when they ingest their substrate, or is there other things that can cause it?

It's possible for them to get a GI impaction from the shells of insects. I've never had a problem with this, but it's still a good idea to feed the freshly molted insects when you can.
