few more questions about Pogo's well being >>>>>>>>>

keith_ecko Oct 07, 2003 10:41 PM

Pogo (formerly named THOR) still isn't eating that great...So far I've covered his aquarium (55 gallon) with papertowels to give him more privacy...kept handling to a min...kept him hydrated (misting 2 times a day, and a bath). I don't have the time in the morning as I goto work fairly early to sit and watch him eat so I've been throwing in 5 crix and leave..When I've gotten home maybe 1-2 are eaten but the others remain..Now some might say because he's still so young and small (bout 5" that he's just stressed and adjusting but should I be feeding him a seperate cage. I have a rubbermaid container equivilant to say a 15 gallon tank that I can use but I don't want to stress him even more by taking him in and out of tanks if stress is what his problem is...So does everyone feed there beardie's this way or will he be fine if I change cages...Just want my lil monster to start eating so he gets big and strong....let me know...thanks, KEITH

I did try feeding him in this rubbermaid container once before but he wasn't interested in feeding there either...Should I have any light or heat in this container or should it just be fine with some reptile carpet as substrate and him and the crix?

...at least he IS eating a couple a day, so you know he's not starving. Also, a 55 gal. might be a bit intimidating to such a small one; try partitioning it so that it's not so big for him. I feed my dragons in a separate plastic tub with light/heat, but no substrate. However, I don't do it when they're newly acquired; I just feed them in their tank.
