John transformed the show into an amazingly sucessful space by his generosity.
At the beginning of the show John was real conservative about folk touching his Pits. This was his first show.
By Sunday John was out to convert the world to Pits.
One little girl held a black pine for over two hours in front of his table. John was on a mission to convert the children of Scottsdale to herpetology. Children were holding John's Pits five at a time. They were mesmerized by his Southern Pines & Black Pines.
At one point a tough, truck driver type vendor came to me on the edge of tears clutching a Strictly Pituophis sign as a momento of one of the most generous acts he had ever experienced. John had given him a pair of red bulls and would not accept anything return. Mike, the vendor, was jazzed.
You had to be there to realy get the incredible emotion but John Ginter was definatly a star of the show. He was a star in spite of the fact that he forgot to bring his slides and could not present his talk on Sunday.
As the show organizer, I really thank John for transforming what might have been an ordinary reptile show into a very special event for me and a lot of future & present herpers.
Thank You John.
