Another shipment question....URGENT!

Leo Lover Oct 08, 2003 01:47 AM

I have to ship 2 geckos tomorrow and I have a temp. question. My highs are going to be 83, which is very strange for the state of WI this time of year. Its WI, anything can happen, it has snowed in the spring time, so whatever! :P They will be going to Washington and the highs over there are only going to be 66.

Should I pack with a heat pack or not? I mean I dont want to 'cook' the geckos inside the box.

If I used a heat pack should I wrap it up in some newspaper to suffice the heat?

If anyone could let me know at least by morning that would be great.

I dont know about anyone else, but I find it a bit trickier to pack this time of year as now with winter approaching there are still states out there who will either be warmer or much cooler and you just want to make sure the little geckos make it safe and sound.

Thanx in advance

I would not use a heat pack, those temps are not going to hurt the leos. If you do use a heat pack, place it between the box and the styro-foam.
Thanks
Justyn

i'm in mn and it was 88 in st paul today.. kind of depressing.. i always look forward to sweatshirt temps.. as far as the heat pack.. you don't need it .. those temps are just fine for a leo... he'll get some insulation from the packaging materials....

This is a terrific time to ship. I would NOT use a heat pack. Tell them to to set the deli cup and animal on their desk to warm slowly for an hour or two - or all day for that matter.

More animals are killed by too much heat than cold.

This is a perfect time to ship - this week is beautiful for us in the Northern Midwest!!!
