Pair of Cal Kings

FR Jan 27, 2014 04:11 PM

This is a sexual pair, that have been kept together since hatching. The smaller one did not eat for a bit, but is doing great now. They are kept in the same cage and I just throw in pinks(when they were smaller) and a handful of fuzzies now. They both eat their fill and do so every couple days.

FR,
You know they might end up breeding like that and you will have no control over them.

LOL!

I have a pair of 09 siblings that I had since babies, in 2012 I posted a pic of the two and said I was going to keep them together. And the responses I got were all negative and it was said that you have to raise them up together in order to have them co exist as adults, blah blah blah. I put them together at the end of 2012 just to "hang out" a little bit, separated them for hibernation, brought them out and kept them together, separated again after the females pre egg laying shed, then they were back together right after she laid. Granted they're always supervised during feeding and both are the same size, but there has yet to be a problem. Just thought I'd share, cheers.

Great looking Kings. Any locality info on them?

Actually no, the male is a wonderful mosaic and the female is a black and white reverse spotted. I hatched the female and her mother, the male was a gift from a friend. I will take some pics of the male as its a really nice one.

As a fan of Locality kings. It appears to be Some high desert influence. Thanks

Nice, the smaller one reminds me of a dairy cow.

Would that be called a Jersey cow. We don't have much of that around here. Jersey cows that is.
Whats funny is, neither one is anything like the parents. Not in the least.

So if I refine that pattern type, I will call them Jerseys, hahahahahahahaha great name.
