Sterilizing...

Bushmaster Oct 08, 2003 09:39 AM

Hi, I would like to know how can I sterilize(just kill harmful bacteria and parasites)mosses and lichens without kill them. If not possible, I dead lichen would be like alive for how long? How can I conservate it?
Thanks

Not sure if this helps. You might have to do a test. I dulute hydrogen peroxide with water (1 peroxide:6 water) and put it in a mister bottle. Many folks with nurseries (including myself) use this to sterilize beds of germinating seed. The seed and seedlings are not hurt. I also use this mixture when cleaning snake cages. I spray and wipe dry with paper towels, without rinsing. Frank
