San Mateo Zonata

Hey guys,
I haven't posted on the KS forums in awhile. Most of my field herping photographs and anecdotes are on the Field Herp Forum.

Anyhow, to reintroduce myself to people who may not remember me, here is a yearling Coast zonata that I rock flipped recently:

And for fun, some other interesting species found that weekend:

Northern Rubber Boa

California Nightsnake

Have a good one,
Zach

That is my favorite subspecies of mountain king from the all.

Ever find any near Boulder Creek, Ben Lomond Bonny Doon?

BD, BC, and BL are all in Santa Cruz County, just south of San Mateo County.

I have personally never seen a living multifasciata from the area- just sheds!
And yes, multifasciata are my favorite subspecies, as well (well...I shouldn't really say that, as I have only found Coast zonata and not any other subspecies).

That is wonderful. No argument, coast mtn kings are some of the prettiest out there. And coast mtn king habitat always looks so peaceful and quiet.

Very unlike the San Bernardino mtns, where it is hard to not run into humans, motor vehicle noise or development while hiking habitat.
