Sorry if I asked this before but what exactly are the Bimini boas?
I'm very intrigued.

Bimini boas are members of the genus Epicrates from the island of Bimini. Other island Epicrates include Cuban Boas, Jamaican Boas, Puerto Rican Boas and Haitian Boas. My favorites are the Biminis, then Jamaicans (listed as Endangered--need permits if you purchase them) then Cubans, then Haitians. Haitians have an age-old reputation for being nuisance captives and nippy, but that may just be old legend. The modern herp keepers are much better at it than in the old days. Like their mainland cousins, the island Epicrates are highly iridescent. They have larger scales than the Bci or Bcc, and have a soft feel almost like skin. Biminis usually have a sweet disposition.

Jim at Hiss-N-Things in Islamorada, Florida has them on his breeders list. I don't know if he produces them every year though.

My experience with some of the insular Epicrates is that they can be musky and very stinky boas to work with. I have kept Haitians and Berry Island boas. I also have good friends who bred Biminis for years. While all are beautiful I found Haitians to be the ones most prone to 'unload' on you. The adult Biminis that I held at my friend's place were not bad however.
Turks and Caicos Island boas also have a reputation for musking on you all the time.

Thank you everyone for responding! This gives me some new research to see if I want to add Biminis to my list of projects.
For now, I gotta stick to what I have.
Thus far I'm getting into the Hogg Islands (like none of you know I love those by now), Macklott's pythons, rainbow boas (if I can find what I'm looking for, or rather, once I do) and just got my male argentine in.

Thanks again and will post updates soon!
