I am back Yayyyyyy LOL ... off and on and not as much as I used to be

BeginnersBasics Oct 08, 2003 10:29 AM

Ok, here is an update for any who were at least a little concerned about me lol

Basically I had a migraine which then turned into a 10 day long Tension headache which increased in intensity to yet another migraine UGH!
Also, I am now on medications to keep my moods, etc "level" I am also told to "lower my stress" LMAOOO as if anyone with 3 kids under 9 can lower their stress levels!!
Oh and last but certainly NOT least.... I am borderline diabetic UGH!

But all in all, healthy LOL

My husband wants me to sell ALL my dragons and get out of breeding them and I expect to have quite an argument brewing over that one

I will be here on the board from time to time, but not near as frequently as I used to be.

Have I rambled enough for now? Hope so... ok, cya all

Glad you feel better than you did! Tell hubby to come talk to us! LOL!

"Borderline" diabetic? Being a nurse & having diabetes for almost 20 yrs., I can tell you there's no such thing! Insulin-resistant, glucose-intolerant, or metabolic syndrome X - yes, but not "borderline" diabetes. At any rate, keep a close eye on your glucose levels, & holler @ me if you have any questions!

How are those babies doing? I'm getting ready to take mine outside--we're having a beautiful Indian summer w/ temps near 80 today! YAYYYYYYY!!!

Babies are doing great! I LOVE this crix free thing LOL. They are growing like weeds and I have two more clutches on day 61 or 62 today
Glad to hear your babies are doing good and that you have some nice weather to take them out in.

As to the exact wording the doc used, I am not sure. I was more concerned with the pain level I was in at the time. I do remember him mentioning my blood sugar being very low and then commenting on my dizzy spells and constant fatigue. Guess I am going to have to call him and ask again now that I can stand to be out of bed and actually hear peoples voices again!

...to the pain of a migraine! I've had them so bad that I was literally crawling across the floor, praying to God that I would die (to escape the pain) & scared to death I would! About the only thing that helps rid me of one is Toradol. I did take a co-worker's Imitrex once, & that helped, too.

Gotta be VERY careful w/ those low blood sugars; they can do more harm & faster than what high ones can do. Glucose tablets are great for when you feel your sugar starting to drop; I keep them everywhere.

That's so exciting--you having more eggs getting ready to hatch! Although this is my only clutch this year, I'm eagerly looking forward to more! You must feel like it's Christmas every few weeks! LOL! They are such sweet little things!

Been there, done that! I was crying and hoping to die these past few days too.... nothing compares to this type of pain, not even childbirth!!!!! I started getting migraines when I turned 14 ...same time as I started getting something else lol (The men here can close their eyes and quit reading now)
I have had so many different meds prescribed to me for these things and nothing works for long. They have to change my meds every few months. (Not sure I am spelling these right, but here goes)Tried Midrin, Axert, Imitrex, a new one call frova.... the list is endless. This time around he tried a new one for "tension headaches" and it actually helped!!!! It is called Esgic plus. It lowered the pain to a level where I could cope and I topped it off with a dose of Nyquil so I could get an hour of sleep here and there lol
Today is my first "official" day out of bed and out of the "dark room" (Navy blue blankets covered my bedroom windows lol)

I had better stop.... this is wayyyyyyyy off topic for a Beardie forum

>>You will have to convince your husband that the dragons help releive your stress not contribute to it. I know you can easily get stressed over the health of the little guys but the overall joy of the hobby and love of the dragons is a stress releiver in and of itself.
good luck and take care

I know you love your dragons, but maybe cutting back when these little ones are gone might not be a bad idea for a bit...... you can always return when you are better!
