C. dickersonae has a seperate row of scales between the supraorbital semicircles. C. antiquus is the only other Crotaphytus with this trait.

Crazy Crotaphytus
C. vestigium's supraorbital semicircles touch but remain seperate with no scales between the semicircles. This is typical of most collared lizards of various species.

C. nebrius has seperate supraorbital semicircles that touch in the middle of the head.

C. collaris from the western part of their range have supraorbital semicircles that are typical of most Crotaphytus. They are seperate and are not fused. This is different than C. collaris from the far eastern part of their range.
C. collaris from the eastern to northeastern part of their range have suprorbital semicircles that are fused together where they meet. Not all Crots from this area have this but most do. Check you so called aquaflames, more than likely they will have fused scales.

i was just wondering about the one scale on top of the head that has a littl blue dot in it, i noticed on my c. collaris the other day and was wondering what it was and i noticed the same thing in the picture
I first read about it in Old World Chameleons. I believe it is a photosensitive sensor in some lizards that let them know when it is light and dark. Probably helps them wake up in the morning. Boy, I sure could could use one.
