Big Sterling Night

maizeysdad May 24, 2014 10:59 PM

Big night for Mainely Boas. Until tonight, all the Sterlings in the world were produced by a single female, and three different males.

Tonight, a possible het female, bred by a possible het male, produced a healthy litter of 17 babies, 2 slugs, no stills. And 5 of those 17 are Sterling Patternless Boas. This was day 107 from her POS.

The ratio of Sterlings to non-Sterlings in this litter once again supports my belief that this is a simple recessive gene. I still have a Sterling x Sterling litter due on June 3, then my season will be over.
