Sterling x Sterling

maizeysdad Jun 01, 2014 06:08 PM

The world's first breeding of a patternless female BCI by a patternless male BCI produced a lovely litter of healthy Sterlings today.

I think it is safe to conclude that the Sterling gene is a simple recessive mutation.

I have twice bred het x het (4 different Boas) producing roughly 25% visual Sterlings in each litter.

I have twice bred Sterling x het (3 different animals) and produced roughly 50% Sterlings in each litter.

I have bred a Sterling to an unrelated super-hypo and produced no Sterlings (all hypo het Sterlings).

And today, Sterling x Sterling has produced a full litter of Sterlings.

I'm kind of over the moon. What a great day.

Here's a few pics.

Thanks for looking.
