What type of collared is this??

jumbo Oct 08, 2003 02:24 PM

I have a friend that bought a collared female for me at a reptile show. He bought it as a Crotaphytus collaris, but I am not sure that it is a collaris. The tail is much longer than the other collaris females I have. Also it is more thin/slight than my other collaris females. The back is dark brown with big white spots (not grey like the other collaris females) and the front legs are kind of light yellow. The dorsal seems a bit high like the dickersonae and it is not as “tame” as the others that I know are collaris.

Is there someone that can help me identify this species?? Or tell me what to look for to identify?? Do the supraorbital semicircle scales that Wells showed below also count for females??

Jesper
