Does this female Nosey Be Panther look normal?

anson Oct 08, 2003 03:36 PM

I just got this girl in today and I was wondering if she looks normal to the people on the forum who have female panthers.
I only have males to judge her by.
Is there edema on her chest or is this normal looking for females?
She is acting normally and ate and drank right away.
The guy I got her from only guaranteed live arrival.
Also is she the right size approx. for a nine or ten month old?

Yes she definitely has EDEMA on her neck. It might be from over supplementation and it might be from something else. I would contact the breeder/shipper/seller about it and see what they have to say. Also the size is about right. I have seen animals at that age larger and smaller.

Since the photo he sent of her before the sale did not show any edema at all and was probably an old photo. I will see what he has to say about it.

Holey moley! That does look like Adema to me. i've seen Adema before, and from that picture, it sure looks like a mild one. even if my guess is wrong and it isn't adema, its certainly something that isn't normal for a female panther cham. That is probabaly why the seller wants to sell it. who is the breeder by the way? i am in the process of purchasing an adult female, and would prefer to avoid such a seller. You can email me if you do not wish to disclose that in public.

Yes, Please send me the name of the breeder aswell. I'm sorry about your situation, and its a shame that breeders don't disclose this with buyers.
