snake/reptile keeper meetups?

I don't have any friends in this area that know about snakes and other reptiles. I'm trying to find a way to meet fellow snake/reptile keepers and/or field herpers. Perhaps there are meetups which go on around here? Or maybe there are people interested in starting some meetups or something like that? I reside in Va Beach btw.
