Well my sick guy lost his battle....

brdfreak Oct 08, 2003 05:34 PM

He passed away sometime today while I was at work. I don't know what could have happened. He just started getting really weak the past couple days and declined from there. I was feeding him with a syringe and giving him his antibiotics as directed. This is the one that was swollen around his vent and the blood came out after a clump of thick pussy stuff. The swelling went down and he started acting better but then he just got really weak and died today.
There was another one that died this same way. I noticed that it was acting funny and then it seemed to get really weak and I was feeding it to but it passed away. I never did see any other signs of sickness from it though it just quit eating then within 2 days died.
Since my vet freaking sucks does anyone have any idea as to what could have happened. I put the guy that died today in the freezer so I can have a biopsy done as soon as I can afford it.
What a drag. I hope the rest of them don't get this crap. Whatever it is! I should sue my stupid vet or key his car or something. Idiot. Crackheaded fungus. If I was going to advertise that I was an exotic animal specialist I would actually be one. False advertisement yeah that's my angle.... that's the ticket!!

appear to be healing and moves into the blood and even though it is better, it becomes stepic when it gets into the system. A necropsy with cutures will tell you if it had a gram negative bacteria and they can be hard to treat.

A good breeder we know just lost his prime male breeder, with a fast moving gram negative bacteria in the vent area, he noticed it and the animals was gone within a few days, even with treatment. So it may not be so much the Vets lack of skill as reptile can by the time you see something wrong already be too advance to treat.

Again, I am sorry you lost this one also.
