First boa

Well, after 20 years of keeping snakes I finally pulled the trigger on a lipstick line sunglow from Jeff over at the boaphile. Awesome snake, extremely tame and a stunning animal. It's hard to believe I didn't get one sooner.

If their ultimate size doesn't concern you, then IMO boas are the best pet snake around. And when you get one that looks like that, well, how can you go wrong? Nice. I really like his cages, too. He makes them structurally sound with minimum material, they do not leak and the door is just big enough for best access but not too big to stress the snake.

(No, he didn't pay me. I am an engineer by trade, and I admire optimization in any design.)

Their size is what drew me to get one actually. I've been wanting a larger snake for years but nothing that I can't handle safely without a second person. I opted for a male since they still get quite large but without the extra bulk of a female, though I may have to get a female now too for a future possible breeding project. lol
