To breed or not to breed that is the question!

LizardLuva Oct 08, 2003 08:09 PM

I was thinking of breeding small house geckoes for begginer pets, #1 theyre cheap to buy, #2 i can get them used to handleing before they are bought to create children to pet them. If i were to breed them i would probably only breed a few times with only one pair!I would be careful not to inbreed and sell the geckoes only as pets, not feeders, do any of you think this is a good or bad idea?I also respect any of your input for my further learning and commenceing the breeding of beginner lizards! Thanks!

Sounds like a nice idea to me. Especially if you can produce hand tame ones! I have a hand tame tokay and I like it a lot, I hear people sell hand tame tokays for around 60$ while the normal ones are like 20. Not a bad investment....too bad my female ran away.....Anyway sounds like a nice project go for it.
