This is the toy that I get for my Lab. I would recommend buying two—one for the water, and one for the yard—because sooner or later, the foam core comes loose and it won't float after that. My dog usually goes through about one of these toys a year, and that's only because the rope wears out. If you don't mind getting a little slobber on your hands, tennis balls are a cheap and excellent choice for water retrieval fun. The Kong toy is great, though. My dog retrieves it in the yard (I throw it to the end of the yard, she brings it back up to the porch and drops it, and runs to the end of the yard again—over and over) at least five times per day, and it cracks me up. It's fantastic—and fun—exercise for Labs.
