HELP,
We dont know what to do about cooper. He is like the energizer bunny. No matter what we do he wont calm down. He does excellent at obediance training and usually always does what he is told but he just cant sit still. He has been on calming drugs and has 3 walks a day but even that didnt make a difference.
he is like a hyperactive child, I know dals are extremley active but this is beyond a joke.
His tail is almost permanatly erect as he patrols the back yard.
As we got him as a rescue dog he hadnt been socialised properly as a pup and i have been working so hard at socialising but it is extremley difficult because he wont calm down.
does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this ?
he does have food allergies but we have changed his diet and got that under control now.
I feel he is just getting worse.

If you feel the dog is basically abnormal, your best bet may be to go with him to a veterinary behavior specialist. Sometimes we just have to listen to our instincts, and it doesn't sound like a trainer is likely to be able to solve this problem.
