Hey gang,
Where has everyone gone? I need my Golden fix. I can't go this long without hearing about the fun antics of a golden or seeing another greyt pic.

Melody, I don't have a Golden Retriever, but I do have a Golden-colored dog who is a dedicated retriever! Believer would be happy to fix you up! This morning I took her for a walk in the shopping center around the corner, and a very nice lady walking by stopped to pet her. She seemed to really enjoy my big redheaded girl.
Then I took Beevy home and came back around the corner with Gabriel for him to have a nice walk with me, too. He was delighted. He's not in need of training, just loves to get out and see the world and the people in it. I walked him with the leash attached to his harness, being extra careful of his bulging cervical disk. It's not bothering him at the moment, just being careful.
We met the same lady, this time she and I going opposite directions from our first pass. She petted Gabriel, too, and he was in heaven. She said as she walked on that the dogs had really blessed her today. I don't know what was weighing on her heart this day, but I'm always so pleased when one of my goofy therapy dogs can touch a life in a good way.

Kathy,
What a heartwarming story! She must have needed something and your pups just made her day. I've had people do the same thing with me and my girls. Dogs are a blessing, that's for sure!

I'm still here....
Butterball and I are doing great, actually she and I went fishing this morning. The poor thing was recently shaved and she froze up there. I keep forgetting bring a blankie with me!!!! But she really doing good with her bad knees, still on Consquin and Rymdarl. We are starting cutback on them to see what happen.
Still going strong in Washington state,
donna, butterball, and bella the cat
Hi Donna!
Glad to see you and happy to hear that Butter is doing well. I'd love to go fishing! Does she catch any, or just you? <G> I hope her knees don't give her any problems.

Hope this helps your fix. Simon was always intriques with his big ball. He could barely put his paws on it when he was 2 months old. He still love the ball. Chases it and then conquers where he proudly stands above it. I think it must feel cool to his belly.
ROFL!!! This is just too cute! What other things does Simon do?

Simon is 9 1/2months and weighs 75 lbs. A big puppy, very happy and joyous. Besides the big balls, he likes to go onto the big trampoline we have in our yard. We put him on when he was a baby, we didn't jump, just let him walk around. Now he jumps up there by himself and loves it. I heard it was unusual for a dog to like this kind of footing but he does. We don't jump on it while he is on. He moves with his own motion.
Lets see, he picks up his leash and puts it in my hand when I ask. Retrieves very well and puts the item in my hand. He gives me a hug while he is sitting by putting his paws gently on my shoulders, and he talks. He can speak "loud bark" and he can talk with is a grumbly whiny dog talk. He knows when he greets a puppy or a small child he immediately lies down. He did that by himself.
Oh he is precious. But I have to stop the hugging part. We plan to do therapy work way down the road and He thinks he can hug everyone which might not be a good idea.
I will take a photo on the trampoline when it stops raining here in NY

The hugging will be okay (it makes a great tool for rewarding the dog and also for stress release on therapy dog visits) as long as you teach him very specifically that he is ONLY allowed to do this with you. Never let him do it with anyone else, even if they ask him to. Dogs can understand this distinction. Be sure to give him big praise and reward when you see him realize on his own not to jump on someone, and choose to stay on the ground instead.

OMG. that is HILARIOUS!
Where do you get those balls?
HEY Melanie,
I think we all abandoned ship with the new format that no one liked. Anita just reminded me that you were still here. I did say I would stop by again when it was working better.
So here I am. So want a golden fix from the Easter Bear?
Then someone is going to have to give me directions on how to add a picture.
