A little good news

Jody P. Oct 08, 2003 09:04 PM

Well I don't think i have to worry about my cumingi laying infertile clutches anymore. Got her last year in July she laid her first clutch in Jan. and her second was laid in Aug.. These were both infertile.

I purchased another female in Jan. and thought it was a male. Now that it is clearly visable he is a male I put him in with her. He has been in with her now since the end of Aug. This is the fourth time I have seen them copulating. Funny how when i buy a monitor it changes sex somehow once it gets here LOL

Feel free to email me with any specific questions.
Here is one of the only things I read on them http://www.phoenix.net/~varanus/cumingi/cumingi.html other then that I just set them up as I would any water monitor.

I do house them together now. Since aug. before that I wasn't sure of the sex of the smaller one as I purchased it as a female but to me it looked male. Now that it has grown since Jan. it is very easy to tell the sex. After my female laid her second clutch of egg's in aug. I put the male in with her. They have been together since then and get along very well.

Do you have any head shots of those two? Would really like to see some pics of the upper half.

And i hope you get lots of successful eggs, too.

There are some pictures of them in the monitor section of the photo page of this site, and also on cybersalvator.
