New Yorkie owner - needs help...Please!

gigi May 13, 2003 01:00 PM

Hi everyone,

I just recently got a yorkie pup. She's absolutely beautiful. I've had other types of dogs before but never a toy breed. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I need to do, know, buy, just anything at all...please feel free and let me know.

My baby, is hasn't been eat right, what should I do? I've been giving Pedigree for pups. She's alreayd potty trained - very smart pup. And just last night, I noticed some of her teeth were missing... this makes me really sad. Do pups lose their baby teeth just like regular baby do? Help. I will be taking her to the vet this weekend, but until then I'm feeling restless about her eating habits and her lost of teeth.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
(^_^)

I have a great recipe that I made up for Tiffany when she wouldn't eat as a puppy. You can e-mail me and I'll send it to you.

When you email me I'll send you some good Yorkie links to help you with you new baby. What's his/her name? How old is he/she?

First off.. how old is this pup? And how much does it weigh?

As to eating... yorkies CAN be small eaters, remember they are small dogs. I would, however, get rid of the Pedigree, but that's just my opinion. I would feed Eukanuba Puppy (the have a small puppy kibble) or Nutro's Puppy... at least these are a higher quality food.

As to the teeth, ALL dogs lose their baby teeth. If you have any questions you really need to discuss them with your vet. He or she is the expert and will be able to answer any questions you may have.

My pup is close to 5 months old. Her name is Ling-Ling As for her baby teeth falling out, I took her to the Vet and they said that it's normal & not to worry.
As for her feeding, I stop giving her pedigree, instead I'm giving her Iams for pups. The vet recommended this brand. She's still not eating much I think it's probably due to the fact that she teething and isn't feeling comfortable - I hope.

I have a question about grooming her. I bath her twice a week - is that too much for a pup? Any recommendation on puppy shampoo & conditioners? I'm currently using Tearless shampoo - what the vet told me, but it's not making her coat shiny.

Thanks for responding to my cry. I really appreciate it.
